And you will see that I am really down-to-earth and professional and a bit of a perfectionist!

My JOURNEY started 35 + years ago at the age of 14, when I couldn’t find ready-to-wear clothing to buy that FIT ME OR MY STYLE! And once the neighbors found out that I had developed into a seamstress of sorts, they inundated me with all kinds of sewing requests, nothing like on-the-job-training.

No one teaches Alterations! There are Tailoring schools, but they are few and far between. I have seen a LOT of so-called Tailors’ workmanship, but it is not as CLEAN inside as I like!

Since I wanted to perfect my sewing workmanship, I took 3 years of Home Ec.
in High School in MPLS, MN, then received Design/Merchandising Training at Anoka Institute, again in Minnesota.

Setting up shop in the Twin Cities was Great, because it was a large area and I had a large customer base to draw from and got a chance to work with a lot of different people with all kinds of projects.

When I came here many years ago, I had the opportunity to be on “NEWS AT NOON’
with JIM KING. What a great guy! And I would sew on camera, show gadgets and machines that had just come on the market and show the viewers patterns from the pattern companies that were on the market and how they could modify them to suit their purposes. It was great fun!

I have also had the opportunity to model some of my designs (as well as clothing of other manufacturers) in local Fashion Shows, THE GOLD BOOK and on TV!

So, with all of my Formal Training, Work Experience, and Related Work, I have developed a great SENSE OF STYLE, COLOR, and PROPORTION that helps me to be the best in CONSTRUCTION and FIT!

NOW, there is no excuse to bring any of your clothing that needs help, to a service business that just has someone doing minimal alterations “on the side”!
